December / January Holiday Classes
The following classes are available durning the December 23 / January 24 holiday period. Please view the class description and time it is offered. In order to participate you must pay for the class in advance and then book the session/s that apply.
You can pay for multiple children and sessions at once. Bookings of 3 or more sessions are 10% off.

Selective Test Preparation
The Selective Test Preparation class is aimed at students preparing for the test. This class helps students prepare for the Reading and Writing components. Students will complete practice reading tasks on a variety of text types, including poetry, to maximise their comprehension skills. In particular, there is an emphasis on inferential reading. Students learn to read “beyond” the text and answer questions that require more than just factual recall. Students will also complete practice for the writing section for the range of text types required in the test. They will also be given feedback on a full written response.
Maximum 5 students.
Cost is $50 per session with a 10% discount applying to those who book into 3 or more of ANY of the holiday classes.

Year 7 Preparation Holiday Class

Year 7/8 Holiday Class
The focus of this class is to improve students’ textual analysis skills. Students will use a range of text types and analyse the structure, style and purpose of each text. Students will also complete an extended written response to improve their structure, clarity, depth and sophistication of expression. Students will receive immediate feedback to improve the depth of their analysis, clarity and flair.

Year 9/10 Holiday Class
In response to a range of text types, students will analyse the form and features of a series of short pieces. They will need to identify and evaluate the writer’s choices and provide textual evidence to support their responses. Students will also create detailed essays, narrative and persuasive texts in preparation for the senior years. The focus of these tasks will be on depth of analysis, as well as supporting evidence and expression.
Maximum 5 students.
